Look what E Dru found.

Look what Estella Dru found at Grandpa's house.

I had her tucked away in a cedar chest. Now she is a staple around here. (By the way, she is dressed in one of my old baby dresses.) When I got this doll it was A BIG DEAL. I think it was 1982, and Grandma could NOT find any where we lived. She and my mom and step dad collaborated, and another family member finally came up with this one for me in Wisconsin. I was a happy little girl.

Well, of course I had to make sure she was legit. And she was....

In case you're wondering, her name is Marlena Cecily. Doesn't she look like a Marlena Cecily?

I carried that baby around for YEARS as you can tell by her dirty little face. I absolutely love seeing Estella Dru with her today. I think she loves her as much as I did way back when.

Did you have a Cabbage Patch Kid? Do you still have it? Even better... can you remember their name? Please do tell.

My first cabbage patch was a knock-off, because my mom couldn't find a real one either...and we didn't have relatives in Wisconsin! Her name was Angela, and I didn't know she wasn't "real" so I loved her just as much :) Mom still has her, but as of now, my girls haven't shown much interest...maybe one day!

Yes I had one, I renamed mine Dennis... at the time naming him after my dad seemed like a good idea.

I did have a cabbage patch kid, but I was not attached to her.

However, I carried around a stuffed scarecrow named "Roy Boy". I will never forget that I was fighting with Jon and hit him with Roy-Boy. Roy-Boy's head went flying off! My grandma sew it back on...it's still a little crooked!

Oh dear yes...the Cabbage Patch Kid days. I had one with bright, yellow yarn hair...Her name was Fanny Alice (quit laughing!) She even had an acrylic yellow pacifier, now how cool was that? Mom has our CPK's tucked away in "safe place", like we are going to lose them now. LOL

I had TONS! I even had the cabbage patch nursery furniture. I still remember the Christmas when I got that! My favorite cabbage patch doll is not my own though. My cousin found Ava one last year named MADDIE!!!! Maddie was the baby girl we lost in October 2006. She is my favorite!

I just got my old cabbage patch dolls out of the attic last night! What a coincidence! My girls absolutely loved them also! One had long red hair just like Kyleigh, so of course she changed her name to "Kyleigh". She had to have a pony tail & a bow, just like the original Kyleigh & went to show & tell today at school! It is so cute when something so simple can make little girls so happy!

Nothing like the Cabbage Patch Dolls. Jan had a couple real ones, then I made her several. I think her favorite was a little bald headed boy that I made. His name was Bobby Lee. I think she still has all of hers.
until next time... nel

My first Cabbage Patch was not a knockoff. I ripped that dress up to look for Xavier Roberts' signature on her left butt cheek! I think I was in 2nd or 3rd grade and her name was Lucinda Kerriann. I still have her! I learned how to French braid on that little baby!!! I also had a bald preemie Cabbage Patch whose name was Humphrey (I named him after Mrs. Christine Humphrey who drove the bus at school. LOL)

Stephen Shelby was my first, I think I ended up with about four by the time I outgrew dolls, and its driving me crazy that I cant remember the others' names. I think one was Courtney something or something Courtney. Oh I'll be thinking about this all day now.

I had a boy named Freddy and a cornsilk hair girl named Ellen, yes they were a BIG deal back then! One of the church's (maybe it was Welcome Home? not sure) had a raffle for two twin ones and I won those, but they were handmade, not the actual Cabbage patch, but I still liked them too.

My mom has several of ours. She tried to unload them on me a few years ago but I begged her to keep them so as not to frighten my children. Ha ha!

I can't remember my girl doll's names but the boy was Isaac ________? Can't remember the middle.
