Confessions of a Mom Freaking Out Over Easter Coordination

I'm a pretty laid back mom. Not much gets me uptight. But I have to make a confession. For years now, I've been a freak about my children's Easter outfits. F-R-E-A-K. Unless you have more than one child, or unless you are not a freak, you probably will not understand the sentiments expressed in this post. You may stop reading now.

Last year, I waited too late (shocker), and the dresses I wanted for the girls were SOLD OUT at GAP. And the panic set in. I got on the GAP website every single day, sometimes 15+ times a day, waiting until someone somewhere returned their size 5s so I could snatch them up. I lost weight. I couldn't eat. I became dehydrated. (Ok, not really, but still... it was serious.) And then finally... one night before I went to bed... HALLELUJAH!!! Two size 5s became available to buy online. I never pulled out a debit card so fast in my life. They were MINE. ALL MINE. And then... I remembered. JEB! His outfit MUST BE COORDINATED with the girls. I shopped and shopped exhaustively and finally settled on a nice white shirt and baby blue shorts. And all of a sudden, just like that, all was well with the world, and I could breath again.

Now, is that not the most ridiculous story you have ever heard? ME, TOO!! So, this year, I decided... I shall not freak out over the coordination of my children's Easter outfits. In fact, I left for Brazil thinking they might not be coordinated at all. But then, early this week, the pressure was too much. I began to scurry... and panic. But just a little. I decided I would LOOK, but if I couldn't find anything, I could live with it.

With Gigi's help (thanks, Gigi), I came up with two dresses for the girls--one denim colored and one orange/red. I found some denim tights to go with the red one and am searching for some orangey colored ones to go with the denim dress. Now here is my FAVORITE part of the story. I was looking high and low for a shirt for Jeb to match up with their outfits and was having NO luck at all. Then on Monday, I was pushing him through Target when he says, "Doggy!" I look up, and several feet away is a shirt, the only one of its kind on a rack... the EXACT color I was looking for. I thought, 'No WAY that's a 3T.' But it was. Oh yes. It was. I almost cried. Seriously. And then... I saw the price tag.

Heaven's angels began to sing. Granted it isn't a dressy shirt, but I've already paired it with a tie and button-up underneath. He'll be stylin', don't you worry.

So, as far as freaking out over their outfits this year, I give myself a B, maybe B+. It could have been worse. I'm still looking for those tights, but as of yet, I haven't panicked. So, here they are.... Can't wait to show you pictures of them actually in them.

I truly hope I'm not the only mom who does this at Easter. I'm just going to believe that I'm not. Please don't shatter my illusion.

I must say, even with only just having one child, I HAVE to find him a great Easter outfit. My husband, on the other hand, thinks he could just wear the same jeans he already has and a shirt that is already in his closest. Is he kidding me????? I have searched and searched and nothing has caught my fancy yet. And now, it's Thursday so I am freaking out!!!

I have to confess, I do this too (and I only have one child). I try to get the same color scheme for all three of us as well (since this is usually the only time besides Christmas that we take a "family" pic). I know, just call me corny. But, I totally panicked this Easter. I found the cutest outfit for Evan and I but ...guess the color, purple. yes purple. Michael is going to kill me. I totally bought him purple, but it's dark purple (if that counts for anything). So, long story short...yes, I panick just like you. I can't imagine matching more bodies. :)

I bought part of Caedmon's Easter outfit last year. LAST YEAR. Granted, it was on clearance and I'm a bargain hound, but still. I finished it off a couple of weeks ago, but he'll probably actually be wearing jeans or khakis that he already has. For some reason I don't really care much about the pants.

As for myself? I just TODAY even thought of finding something for Easter. It's a little late, especially since nothing jumped out at me in the store this morning and said, "Hey, I'm exactly what you're looking for and you don't even know it. Plus, I'm on sale." So I have no idea what I'll wear, but the boy will be cute.

I went ALL OVER the place looking for the perfect dress for Avery this year. All I knew was that I didn't want pink, and I wanted it to call out to me as soon as I saw it. It finally happened and I can't wait for her to wear it!

HA! I love it! I ALWAYS try to dress my girls in the same dresses at Easter. However, with Catherine here, it's hard to find a 9 month in the same dress as a 5! Had to do coordinating this year...and I was corking...but it's all ok now!

So, if you are freak, I am too and there is NO way that's possible! HA!

You're the best mom, my girl wouldn't even wear dresses! Jeans and t-shirts...OK, she has dresses, but those her last choice to wear!

Super cute outfits...but what really caught my eye is how much Jebman has grown up since last year's Easter picture! What happened to that baby face??

Yes, I have to confess, I do this as well. It gets harder with each addition of children. This year I decided my boys can coordinate and my girls, but they don't ALL have to coordinate. It did make it a little easier. The scary part is I haven't even tried any of the outfits on, so we will see how much scurrying I do come Sunday morning.

Easters' long ago were filled with those thoughts ... now ... I feel bless to have everybody show up at church in clothes LOL!

No really, I did similar things when my kiddos were small and my hubby just tagged along as we wondered store after store looking for just the right outfits. Oh, and of course, our had to match too!

Have a blessed Easter Weekend:)

LOVE LOVE LOVE the outfits.

I do this, too! I've learned where to shop & when. And on occassion, we match my 2 kids with my sister's 3 kids (so all 5 are in similar outfits, if not exact). And not just at Easter, but for Christmas & vacations, too. I totally get the freak out!
