This weekend, Matt and I went to Oklahoma City to celebrate his birthday. It was 'sort of' a surprise. I took him to see one of his favorite pastors, Craig Groeschel, at LifeChurch.tv. Matt listens/watches Craig's podcast every week, but had never had the opportunity to see him in person. LifeChurch was awesome... simple and smart, and Craig's message was great as always. We had tons of fun WITHOUT the children. I missed them so much, but we really needed to be kiddo-less for a day or so. (I can't remember the last night I spent the night without them.)
We had great meals... one at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar restaurant in Bricktown (Matt's choice), and one at Cheescake Factory. It was a great time.
I had to be sneaky with these pictures so no one would know I was a big fat nerd/tourist. This is Matt right before the service started.
Craig speaking. (Oh, yeah... we were the front row geeks.)
Cheesecake Factory desserts. (Nope. Neither of them were cheesecake.)

That is so cool! I am glad you guys had a good time. I think it is good for you as a couple and for your kids to see you spending time alone. Glad he had a good birthday!
What a cool trip! And if I'd known you were going to Cheesecake Factory, I would've sent some sort of cooler contraption and my credit card just to get some of that cheesecake!
