Referrals, please!

So, Matt and I have decided to become a bit more aggressive in attempting to sell our house. Part of that 'aggression' has been to create a website with information. We are putting the site address on our flyers that go in the info tube in our 'FOR SALE BY OWNER' sign in front of the house. SO.... anyone reading this knows of anyone looking for a home in Siloam, please forward them this website. We would be eternally grateful. And while you're at it, say a big prayer for us. It really is time for us to move on! www.houseat415.blogspot.com

How many is too many?

So how many pictures of my son can I post before I hit the "too many" category? I should probably just apologize now b/c I'm certain to either be there already or I'm right on the verge. He is just so cute.... I can't help myself! So, here he is in all his adorableness.

And another makes four...

My four-year-old, accident-waiting-to-happen knocked out her FOURTH tooth last night. We dropped her off at children's choir only to get a phone call about 30 minutes later that Belle had fallen off the ladder of a slide on the playground and knocked out her tooth. She now has ONE front tooth left. The first catastrophe happened two years ago when she was rolling on an exercise ball and fell on Grandpa's floor. She knocked out a tooth (and swallowed it), and damaged the roots to a bunch of others. It was quite traumatic, especially the swallowing part b/c, of course, the tooth fairy had no tooth to collect. It took a lot of convincing that the tooth fairy didn't need the tooth to leave money. Last night was also fairly dramatic. I am used to the fact that there is never any shortage of drama in this house, but I can do without it when blood is involved. Not fun.

Other than another missing tooth, this week was normal for us. Jeb is getting bigger and smiling at us now. He is the sweetest little guy. The girls think he is great but don't pay a whole lot of attention to him. I've broken up several fights over who will stick the paci in his mouth, but other than that, he seems to be able to fly under their radar.

Easter Sunday

I would say I was "semi-successful" in my picture taking endeavors this morning. We were running late (as usual), and Matt was rushing us (as usual). Jeb was the least cooperative, and Dru was a close second. I got a few good ones, I guess. They were all so cute. HOWEVER, Matt said I dressed Jeb too "girly". I told him it was Easter, so it was justified. Anyway, we had a good day--church, Gigi's, home. I hope the girls' sugar high isn't permanent. Whoever invented Easter candy clearly did not have children. I'm all for Easter broccoli or Easter fruit snacks. And the person who came up with Easter grass definitely needs to be shot or at the very least slightly tortured.

All in all, this was a wonderful Easter. We are so blessed to have Baby Jeb with us. He is just such a little joy... even if he did look too girly today.

Weekend at Paw-paw's

We had a nice couple of days at Paw-paw's house. We drove down on Friday and came back Saturday evening. It was the first time Grandpa was able to meet Jeb. I think he was pretty proud of him. The girls walked down to the field below Grandpa's house and picked Easter flowers with Matt. It was a yearly tradition we had with Grandma. I couldn't make myself go this time. Maybe next year. Anyway... we had a nice time with Grandpa, and I think he enjoyed us being there. I got a few good pictures that I wanted to share. I also plan on trying to get some good ones tomorrow in our Easter attire. That's easier said than done. Stay tuned....

Lazy Days

Things are not real exciting in the Slaughter house this week. Matt is on spring break, and we have all been extremely lazy. The torrential downpour yesterday didn't help matters. We ARE planning are getting out tonight and making a Chuck E Cheese trip. What fun for Matt and me.

As for a Jeb update, he is doing great. He has been a little fussy lately, but still, he's very easy to handle. The girls are enjoying Matt being home. They love their little brother and help out whenever asked.

I am still feeling fine except for being a little stir crazy. I may actually enjoy Chuck E Cheese's! (That's pretty sad.)

I plan on posting more pictures soon. I've been preoccupied with catching up on Jeb's babybook. Again, not too interesting...

Praise the Lord, it's over!!!

It's over. After lots of prayer and the right medication, my PPD is gone. I am so relieved and so happy and so THANKFUL!! I spoke a little too soon on my last post. I wrote that on Wednesday, and the next couple of days were probably my worst. I will say without a doubt that this time around was by far my worst experience with PPD. I honestly thought the men in white coats needed to come haul me away to a rubber room. (No, I'm not kidding.) It is insane to me how intense and absolutely consuming PPD can be. Thank God for the best friends in the world and a husband that (I'm sorry, every other woman in the world) cannot possibly be matched. I am convinced that there is always a reason for the valleys in our lives--even the deep, dark terrifying pits. From the depths of where I was, I was reminded of the number of people who love and care about me and who so unselfishly offered anything and everything to help me in some way. What a blessing to have such a reminder. Also, at some point, I feel that I will be able to help someone else who may be struggling the way I struggled. Like I said several times before, I just don't know how you could ever fully wrap your head around it unless you've been in the middle of it. So, hopefully this is my last post about PPD! I will not miss addressing it whatsoever!!

I'm including a picture of Belle and Jeb. Belle got up this morning, ate breakfast, sat down to finish her cartoon, and said, "Mama, I'll hold Jeb." She sat through the entire ending of Dora and held him, both completely content. I had to snap a picture.

OK... just one more comment, and I'm done.... Thank you one more time to everyone who prayed for me. I promise to return the favor.

Better

I hesitate to even write these words, but I THINK THINGS ARE GETTING BETTER. Yesterday was by far the worst day I've had. I am convinced that God sent the snow only so Matt could stay home with me. Yesterday was bad. Very very bad. The good news is that on Monday, I changed medication and really feel like it has already helped... though not as much as all the prayers going up. And I ask...beg... for you to continue to pray for me. While I do feel better, I am still very anxious and have a heart full of fear. If you haven't experienced postpartum, it's just not something easily explained or at all rational. But it's very real to me, and so very scary. This is the first day I've been at home by myself past 9 am or so. Please pray that today will be my first day on a very quick road to recovery.
